Step-by-Step Instructions for Chicken Wild Rice Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a spacious baking dish, combine chopped onion, carrots, celery, and wild rice with chicken broth. Cover tightly with foil and bake for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add flour, salt, and poultry seasoning, and cook for about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
  4. Remove the baked dish from the oven, add raw chicken pieces, and pour the creamy sauce over everything. Stir well to combine.
  5. Melt the remaining butter and toss the cubed bread in it. Sprinkle the buttery bread cubes over the casserole.
