  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning or mix of oregano and basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika smoked paprika for additional flavor
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 0.5 cup Beef Broth or water; can use vegetable broth
  • 0.25 cup Milk optional; can use plant-based milk
  • Fresh Parsley for garnish, optional

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture to the baking dish, spreading it evenly. Layer sliced potatoes on top and sprinkle with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the potatoes. Pour beef broth around the edges and drizzle milk over the top.
  6. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
