Procedure
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, eggs, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the pumpkin mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the yellow cake mix on top.
- Sprinkle chopped pecans over the cake mix, then drizzle melted butter on top.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes until golden brown and set. Use a toothpick to check for doneness.
- Cool completely in the pan before slicing. Serve warm or chilled with Cool Whip.
