Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish with baking spray or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a small skillet over low heat, toast the pecan pieces for 5-7 minutes or until fragrant and golden brown. Allow to cool.
  3. Peel, core, and chop the apples into ½-inch chunks. Set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar using an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes until fluffy. Add the egg and mix well.
  5. Sprinkle in the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon; gently mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped apples and toasted pecans until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes until the edges are golden and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
