  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar Adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 cup Water Can substitute with orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Zest Optional, for added flavor
  • 1 stick Cinnamon Stick Can substitute with a pinch of ground cinnamon

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Rinse cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or bruised berries.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, water (or orange juice), and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves and bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Once cranberries have burst, stir in orange zest and cinnamon stick. Reduce heat and let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and cool slightly. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
  5. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator or freeze.
  6. Serve chilled or warm, on dishes like turkey or oatmeal.
