Step-by-Step Instructions for Crispy Japanese Gyoza Dumplings
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, finely chopped green onions, shredded cabbage, minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Take a wonton wrapper and spoon a generous amount of the filling into the center. Wet the edges with water, fold over to create a half-moon shape and press edges together to seal.
- Lay the filled dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper without touching each other.
- In a skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the gyoza in a single layer and fry for about 3 minutes until bottoms are golden brown and crispy.
- Add about ¼ cup of water to the skillet and cover with a lid. Allow to steam for 3-4 minutes until filling is cooked through.
- Transfer the cooked gyoza to a serving plate. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes
Fresh meat and vegetables lead to the best flavors for gyoza. Avoid overfilling wrappers to prevent bursting during cooking.
