Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well blended.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle shape, about 1/8 inch thick.
- Brush the rolled pastry with melted butter generously.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the brushed pastry and press gently with the back of a spoon.
- Cut the pastry into strips about 1 inch wide using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Twist each strip several times, placing them onto the lined baking sheet with space in between.
- Brush the tops of the twisted strips with any remaining melted butter and sprinkle with leftover cinnamon-sugar.
- Bake the twists for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
- Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet. Optionally, prepare a simple glaze with powdered sugar and milk.
