  • 1/4 cup Sugar granulated

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well blended.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle shape, about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Brush the rolled pastry with melted butter generously.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the brushed pastry and press gently with the back of a spoon.
  6. Cut the pastry into strips about 1 inch wide using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  7. Twist each strip several times, placing them onto the lined baking sheet with space in between.
  8. Brush the tops of the twisted strips with any remaining melted butter and sprinkle with leftover cinnamon-sugar.
  9. Bake the twists for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
  10. Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet. Optionally, prepare a simple glaze with powdered sugar and milk.
