For the Meatballs
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Can substitute with ground turkey.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Grated.
  • 3 tablespoons Green Onions Chopped.
  • 1 large Egg Acts as a binder.
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs Use gluten-free for dietary needs.
  • 4 tablespoons Soy Sauce Low-sodium preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Gochujang Can substitute sriracha.
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar Can use honey or maple syrup.
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is an alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Optional.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Seeds Optional for garnish.
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Scallions Can use parsley as alternative.
For the Spicy Mayo Dip
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Use vegan mayo for a plant-based option.
  • 2 tablespoons Lime Juice Can use lemon juice.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Agave syrup can be used as a substitute.

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green onions. Add in the egg, breadcrumbs, soy sauce, sesame oil, gochujang, brown sugar, rice vinegar, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for about 18-20 minutes until cooked through and golden.
  5. While baking, whisk together mayonnaise, gochujang, lime juice, and honey in a small bowl to make the dip.
  6. Serve meatballs warm with the spicy mayo dip and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped scallions.
