  2. In a small saucepan, combine the pineapple juice, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ketchup, and soy sauce over medium heat. Stir gently until boiling, ensuring sugar dissolves.
  3. Once boiling, slowly stir in the cornstarch slurry. Keep stirring until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes, until it has a glossy texture.
  4. If desired, add natural red food coloring and mix well to incorporate.
