Preparation Steps
- In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of sliced fresh strawberries, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of water. Cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes until strawberries soften and release juices. Strain the mixture into a bowl and allow it to cool completely.
- In a separate pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Steep for about 5 minutes, then remove tea bags and stir in 1/4 cup of sugar until dissolved.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled strawberry syrup, brewed tea, and 2 cups of cold water. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into the mixture and stir well.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the iced tea over the ice, and garnish with fresh strawberry slices and mint leaves.

Notes
Use ripe berries for maximum sweetness and flavor. Make ahead by storing syrup in the refrigerator for up to three days. Customize with fresh herbs or different teas for variety.
