- In a small saucepan, combine the water, packed brown sugar, and pumpkin puree. Add the ground cinnamon, ground ginger, grated nutmeg, and ground cloves. Whisk thoroughly until the sugar dissolves.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and allow the mixture to warm. Remove from heat just before it reaches a rolling boil.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the syrup simmer for 10-15 minutes until it thickens.
- Remove from heat and whisk in the maple extract and vanilla extract.
- Cool the syrup for 10 minutes in the saucepan, then transfer to a jar or bottle and refrigerate.
