  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and allow the mixture to warm. Remove from heat just before it reaches a rolling boil.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the syrup simmer for 10-15 minutes until it thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in the maple extract and vanilla extract.
