Cooking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Set your oven rack to the center position.
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chops for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, lower the heat, add onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another minute. Sprinkle in all-purpose flour and stir for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in milk and chicken broth, allowing the mixture to simmer and thicken for about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, half of the onion sauce, and half of the cheese. Repeat the layers.
- Place the browned pork chops on top, cover with foil, and bake for 1 hour. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbling.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes, then sprinkle fresh parsley before serving.
