- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, greasing it lightly.
- In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Whisk until blended.
- In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: melted butter, maple syrup, milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined. The batter will be thick.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Cool the bars in the pan for 10 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper.
- Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely, then slice into squares or rectangles.
