- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with butter or oil and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt until well blended.
- In another bowl, mix together ½ cup of melted unsalted butter, ¼ cup of vegetable oil, and ¾ cup of granulated sugar. Add in 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, blending until smooth.
- Gently fold in 1½ cups of mashed ripe bananas to the wet mixture.
- Gradually pour the dry ingredients into the wet banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Fold in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips into the batter.
- Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a skewer comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
