Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large skillet over medium-low heat, cook the thick-cut bacon until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the bacon and let it cool before crumbling.
- In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add chopped yellow onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent.
- Add fresh button mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes until golden brown. Then add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
- Stir in cream of mushroom soup, crumbled bacon, milk, and Monterey Jack cheese. Keep stirring until cheese melts.
- Gently fold in the drained cut green beans until evenly coated.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with French fried onions.
- Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes until the edges are bubbly and the fried onions are golden.
